Better bedroom organization with Kitelinens sheets that stay on the bed

It’s never a bad time for more organization in the bedroom

If the clothes are spilling out of your bedroom closet, your bed never seems to be made, and you’re stumbling on things in the dark as you walk to your bed, then it’s time to get your bedroom organized and we have some ideas for you!

Even if you only have 15 minutes at a time to devote to better organization, that’s enough to make a difference, and we’re here to help transform your bedroom into an oasis!  We’ve created a list of the best bedroom organization ideas, hacks and products to assist. Some are functional, some are ingenious, some are stylish, and all will help you sleep better in a clutter-free, well-organized bedroom.

To start creating a truly organized and functional bedroom, think about your bedroom in sections. This will help you tackle the bedroom organization project in pieces so that it’s less overwhelming, and help you hone in on the functionality of each area. The Spruce recommends starting with areas like closets, dressers, armoires and wardrobes so that you're decluttering and organizing storage space first, which in turn makes space for smaller items in your bedroom that you can “hide” in said closets/dressers (there are some really good bedroom organization ideas in this piece)!

Bedroom organizing ideas: closets and armoires

1 of 3 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Start a donation bag. Tackling your clothes closet is likely going to be the most challenging section of your bedroom. If you have more clothing than you know what to do with, grab a KonMari guide and figure out what you can part with. More than likely, you have some items you never wear in there, and it’s time for them to go. Some other ideas you can leverage to make for even more organization is color-coding your clothes, or hanging them from shortest to longest. This organization technique helps you find clothes faster, sparks ideas for new outfits, and  is so visually appealing.

2 of 3 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Foldable hangers. In order to create a more functional storage system in your closet, foldable hangers are one of the best bedroom organization ideas and worth the investment. check out YouTuber Brittany Vasseur’s recommendations for game-changing bedroom organization products and ideas like foldable hangers and shelf organizers that will free up space and bring order to your bedroom chaos. Brittany’s posts can help anyone looking for better bedroom organization ideas!

3 of 3 Bedroom Organization ideas: Keep a hamper for dirty clothes nearby. A hamper, either in the closet or next to/near your bedroom closet or armoire will help clothes stay contained and off the floor. Especially in a smaller bedroom, practically anything on the floor can immediately ruin your organization attempts. Similar ideas for keeping clothes contained include placing your hamper inside your bedroom closet, not to be seen. Or, ensuring your hamper has a lid to cover up the pile of clothes.

Ideas for organizing the bed area in the bedroom

1 of 5 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Utilize under-the-bed storage space efficiently. Not visible and easily accessible, you can use this space to store out-of-season clothing, extra bedding, sports gear, arts and crafts and anything else you don’t use on the reg. To utilize this space, we recommend rolling organization containers, under-the-bed organization bags, or vacuum bagsThese are just a few ideas for how to utilize this space in your bedroom, but the key here is that your bed likely takes up the majority of space in your bedroom and that square footage is hidden, so use it for organization no matter how your ideas transpire for the bedroom.

2 of 5 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Keep your bed tidy with Kitelinens - the best sheets for your bed. Even if you get the rest of your bedroom de-cluttered, an unmade bed is going to keep your bedroom looking messy. Kitelinens Stay-Tucked Sheets are the best sheets for your bed (and bedroom at large) when sharing ideas of organization. Our sheets make the chore of making your bed faster and easier, so that you’re much more likely to get it done every day. Not-so-similar sheet ideas have existed in the past, but those ideas were never as simple to use as Kitelinens’ sheets for the bedroom. Shop Kitelinens, the best sheets for your bed, in various sizes here:

3 of 5 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Get a functional nightstand for bed-side organization. A small dresser where you can store some clothing is a great space-saving trick that many professional organization gurus use with clients who are living in tight quarters. If you don't have the room for a small dresser in your bedroom, try a slim night table with lots of drawers. We recommend organization within those drawers too with drawer organizers, and, if you use your phone as your alarm clock, some gear for keeping organization to your charging cable/phone accessories.

4 of 5 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Place pillows in baskets. What ideas do you have for your throw pillows when you turn down your bed for sleep? You should have a home for them in your bedroom when it’s time to actually use the bed at night. Use baskets to house decorative pillows while you're using the bed, stripping the bed, and doing the wash. Some ideas we’ll share are: you can find a stylish and affordable woven, wicker or cloth basket from your favorite home stores via a quick Google search, or check out your local thrift store for some more unique bedroom organization pieces that both save you money and are better for the environment.

5 of 5 Bedroom Organization Ideas: Store blankets on an organization rack. If you have the floor space, consider a nice blanket rack to keep your blankets, throws, or quilts. This will make making the bed, and getting the bed ready at night ("turn down") easier. Between the blanket rack and the throw pillow basket, you can rest easier knowing your decorative bedding isn’t cluttering up the floor while you sleep. Some ideas we’ll share are: you can find a blanket organization rack in an antique or thrift store, or brand new online.

Ideas for organizing your bedroom: dresser / vanity area

After you’ve KonMari’d your dresser / vanity, think about what you need to make this space more functional so it doesn’t get cluttered again. To keep this area clean and functioning efficiently:

  • 1 of 5 Organization Ideas: Get a functional storage tray to keep makeup, skincare, jewelry and other items neat for key organization in the bedroom.

  • 2 of 5 Organization Ideas: Get a makeup organization kit for all your makeup, brushes and other grooming tools.

  • 3 of 5 Organization Ideas: Keep this surface clear and streamlined by moving framed art and photos to your bedroom walls.  This goes for your bedroom dresser, nightstand, or vanity, especially if you have a smaller bedroom.

  • 4 of 5 Organization Ideas: Get bedroom drawer organizers. These are one of the best bedroom organization ideas out there - total game changers!  We especially love this honeycomb organizer that’s perfect for the drawers that you keep your socks, scarves, underwear, and belts in.

  • 5 of 5 Organization Ideas: Keep a small trash bin nearbyA discrete but attractive garbage pail kept in the bedroom provides you with a spot to throw tissues, makeup waste, scraps of paper, and all the other small items of trash that make their way into your bedroom. Look for a small bathroom-size trash can - the smaller the better. Other ideas can include wicker baskets to be used as a trash can, or steel bucket for a more industrial look.

Ideas for organizing your bedroom: desk / work area

Given today’s world with many people working from home, it’s imperative for your bedroom’s organization when working from the bedroom. In order to keep your productivity strong, consider implementing some (or all) of the ideas below for your desk / work area in your bedroom.

  • 1 of 4 Bedroom Ideas: A bedroom desk with drawers, big enough to store and hide your laptop, keyboard, papers, etc. when you’re done working for the day. We recommend three to four drawers for optimal organization. Depending on how much space your bedroom has, consider a desk with drawers near the top, and thin or transparent legs. In any small bedroom, this type of desk won’t feel too intrusive.
  • 2 of 4 Bedroom Ideas: Bookends! You can find very cute and crafty bookends to hold your papers, folders, books and more together atop your bedroom desk for an aesthetically pleasing design, but also great organization! Experts' ideas  today suggest standing your books with the pages facing you for a uniform look and color. But, if you love a pop of color, your organization can always incorporate a rainbow lineup of book spines.
  • 3 of 4 Bedroom Ideas: A second monitor with laptop stand. This formal setup helps keep your bedroom on point while working, and also elevates your setup for a more open environment. Other ideas include placing your second monitor in the center of your desk for more pristine lines throughout your bedroom, and using a monitor stand with a more modern wood aesthetic.
  • 4 of 4 Bedroom Ideas: Make sure your bedroom desk chair is slim and sleek. Anything too bulky will take away from the organization you’re aiming for. Also, try to match the color of your desk chair to the rest of your furniture in your bedroom.
