Kitelinens Sleep Stories: Mary

Sleep needs are highly variable across ages, genders and lifestyles. When we designed Kitelinens Stay-Tucked Sheets, we set out to create the most comfortable cotton sheets for all types of people, no matter what sleep preferences you have. What type of sleeper are you? What are your sleep preferences, must-haves and must-NOT-haves? While the answers can be vastly different from person to person, you might be surprised that many people have the same quirks and specific preferences in common.

With this in mind, we started reaching out to Kitelinens customers to see what they’d share about their sleep life and how Kitelinens helps. Our Sleep Stories series features interviews with real users of Kitelinens Stay-Tucked Sheets and their testimonials about how Kitelinens premium cotton bed sheets improved their bedtime and wake-up routines.

Louisiana-based Kitelinens customer Mary, an avid follower of tech news, was reading TheSkimm newsletter where she saw Kitelinens. The innovative design piqued her curiosity. Though she is retired, Mary’s schedule is packed between taking care of her elderly parents in their mid-90’s and spending as much  time as she can with her four children and two grandchildren. Read our full interview with Mary to find out more about why she chose Kitelinens.

What type of sleeper would you describe yourself as? Are you an active sleeper that moves around a lot, or mostly still during the night? I am not an active sleeper.

Do you like silence or white noise while you sleep? I definitely prefer silence, but since I have bilateral cochlear implants, silence is a given. When I take off my processors, I cannot hear anything.

Do you like total darkness or a little light in the room? I definitely prefer total darkness with one small nightlight. My husband uses the television to go to sleep, but I turn it off before I turn in.

Do you have any sleep quirks? I can’t sleep without my soft down pillow. Any other pillow gives me neck cramps. Also, we like it cold at night.

What's your biggest sleep pet peeve? I do not like being hot or having night sweats.

Are you a night owl or an early riser? Definitely a night owl, but ever since I purchased my Apple Watch a few years ago, my sleep schedule is much more regular, and I get up around the same time everyday. I have noticed as I have gotten older, I don’t need as much sleep.

If you sleep with a partner, do you have any sleep "incompatibilities"? No incompatibilities with my husband.

How has sleeping with Kitelinens sheets that stay tucked in improved your sleep? The design of the Kitelinens sheets allow for movement while staying tucked. It’s like being in a safe cocoon. It is so refreshing to be able to easily make the bed in the morning without needing to constantly readjust the sheets.

How has sleeping with Kitelinens premium cotton bed sheets that stay tucked in improved your mornings? I am definitely able to get up and go much more quickly due to the clever design of Kitelinens sheets. The design has been a lifesaver. The Kitelinens all cotton fabric sheets feel lightweight, yet very strong. The tactile smoothness and quality of the sheets are comparable with higher thread counts of much more expensive sheets.
